Israel is under attack on two fronts simultaneously, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday at a Hanukka candle-lighting ceremony with IDF soldiers at Latrun.

“Israel faces attacks from Hamas and other terrorist organizations, and we are subject to a diplomatic attack led by the Palestinian Authority which seeks to strip us of our right to defend ourselves and take away our legitimacy to exist,” the prime minister said.

“We are holding off both of these attacks at the same time,” Netanyahu said. “Over the weekend we sent a message to Hamas – we are not prepared to accept the firing of even one rocket lightly, and we will respond accordingly and with strength.”

Addressing the diplomatic attacks against Israel, Netanyahu said, “The Palestinians may soon bring to a vote at the UN Security Council a draft resolution unilaterally forcing a Palestinian state and other unacceptable conditions on Israel.

“We expect the responsible parties in the international community to reject this proposal, but in any event, we will staunchly oppose it and will not act in accordance with any diktats,” he said.
