Israel Air Force struck two targets in the Gaza Strip overnight Wednesday after a rocket fired from the Strip exploded near the border fence.

It was not clear if the rocket had landed on the Israeli side of the fence. No rocket sirens were sounded and there were no reports of casualties.

The Israeli military said that an aerial strike targeted two “terror infrastructure” sites belonging to Hamas in the northern in central Gaza Strip.

Earlier on Tuesday, Sirens sounded and an explosion was heard in two southern Israeli kibbutzim Tuesday afternoon.

It later became clear that no rockets were fired toward Israel. The Iron Dome battery had mistaken a bullet for a rocket, thus prompting sirens to sound and the launching of an interception missile.
